Swim Safety

Image
We had a swim safety lesson today. We wore clothes over top of togs, 'fell overboard', treaded water for a minute, removed clothes (NOT togs), and continued treading water until the 'boat' came back, raised our hand to indicate we needed help, and were finally rescued! It was a tricky task but one that taught us the importance of always being safe and aware of our environment.

Water Safety with Chloe

Water Safety with Chloe This week we had a session in the pool with Chloe from Water Safety NZ. One key thing we did was swim without our goggles. If we were out on a boat or kayak we wouldn't be wearing goggles so it was important for us to work without them on. We also talked about which ways of staying afloat would conserve our energy more - so we doggy paddled and floated.
